Wonderful Handhelds is a game about playing a fictional retro LCD device that never saw release in the late 90s.
About this game
Hola! I'm a dad making games under the name of Dad's Indie Studio.
I developed Wonderful Handhelds during my paternity leave after the birth of my third child. My goal was to create a compact and manageable project that I could complete within three months, while also challenging myself and learning new skills.
Wonderful Handhelds is a tribute to the classic LCD game devices from the 80s and 90s. In this game, you can play Cursed Castle, which pays homage to classic dungeon adventures with spooky skeletons, locked doors, and hidden keys.

This was a ton of fun!! If it was possible to unlock new cartridges within existing cartridges I could totally see this expanding into a bigger game concept.
